A group of over 20 HSPers and family members got together at the Campbelltown Catholic Club (NSW) on Sunday 25 August over lunch. Comments included: “We all shared a wonderful time together”; “Appreciate all the people who came quite a long way just to be together”; “It was a great atmosphere had by all”.

Cardiff NSW (Central Coast and Newcastle)

A bunch of HSPers from the Central Coast and Newcastle, and a visitor from Victoria, got together for lunch on 8 July. Comments from attendees included:

“Thanks everyone for a great afternoon”; “‪Thanks for lunch once again it was a great day the kids are asking when we are meeting up again”; “Thank you for organising! It was great to be up here and able to see familiar faces and meet different faces!”; “Awesome bunch, so great when HSPers can get together to support each other”; “It was great to see everyone. Glad we have each others contacts now. Great to swap stories and experiences but the time went too quickly”.‬

Perth WA

. . .

Another social gathering took place in Perth on 20 July at the Principal Bar and Restaurant, Midland with a good attendance. Comments included:

“We are so lucky Perth has such active members”; “Thank you everyone for a lovely time. A special thank you to Donna for organising a wonderful afternoon and Debbie for the photo”.

Discussion included information on ‘everyday shoes’ and the sharing of experiences during and after the get together. A future event is already being planned for next February.

Community member Kylie, a travel agent from Adelaide, took on the 2019 Stadium Stomp at the Adelaide Oval on 16 June to raise funds for the son of one of her clients, who has HSP. Kylie’s challenge, a daunting course involving 6,000 steps, attracted donations to the Foundation of over $1,000.

Kylie said “Thankfully I had done enough fitness/stair training that the actual event was okay to recover from, my legs weren’t too sore and I was able to walk easily”.

A big “Thank You!” to Kylie from the Foundation and the HSP Community … well done!

Facebook birthday fundraisers

Three community members took on the idea to do Facebook fundraisers for HSP research on their birthday in the past 3 months, raising a total of $390.

Thank you Dan, Chantelle and Michael for celebrating your birthdays and asking your friends to support HSP research instead of presents – well done!

How about turning your birthday into a Facebook Fundraiser for HSP with your family and friends!
