The Australian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG) held a dinner in March to honour their esteemed member, and Vice President of this Foundation, the late Con Xiros.
A sell-out crowd of almost 200 people from the insurance industry packed the Athena restaurant in Sydney to honour Con, their well-respected and much loved friend and colleague.
Relatives and friends of the Xiros family were also there including Con’s parents, Elias and Dimitra and brother Tim.
The Foundation was represented by inaugural President, Robin Bligh and his wife Jan, Therese Bligh, Steve and Robyn Lunn, Chris and Wendy Hall and current President Frank McKeown.
Tim said “The happy atmosphere at the dinner helped us remember the good times we all had with Con. I think it was the way Con would have like to be remembered… good food, good company and many laughs. And most importantly for a good cause. Con is missing but his memory and spirit will live on.”
Family friend and gifted photographer who took photos for the evening, Cynthia Sciberras said “It was a special night… and just so touched that Con can still manage to share his charm and bring so many people together.”
APIG also made the evening a fundraiser for the Foundation, being close to Con’s heart and a passionate cause of his. They presented the Foundation with a cheque for $10,000 from the evening… a great start to our 2011 fund raising.
Everyone in the HSP community is very grateful to the members of APIG, and especially to the hard-working organisers, for coming up with this great idea, for making it happen and for being so generous towards the Foundation. Thank You!
