Here are some highlights …
- Million Dollar Campaign: In 2010 the SPF raised around $800,000. The goal for 2011 is $1,000,000 with the Million Rays of Hope campaign.
- Expanding the SPF: In anticipation of future clinical trials, an initiative to increase numbers… currently 2,600, which is 10% of the projected HSP/PLS population in the US and Canada.
- The NEALS task force has formed a scientific advisory board to evaluate compounds as possible candidates for clinical trials.
- Stand Tall!, by physiotherapist Liz Wrobleski, an article about the importance (especially for those who use wheelchairs or scooters) of standing.
