Vicki and Emily’s mother, Eleni has provided an inspiring story about her daughters.

I am the mother of 2 beautiful daughters both of whom suffer from HSP recessive format (not diagnosed via testing as yet). I wanted to share how proud I am of my daughters. They are true inspirations to me and to all who know them. Vicki, my eldest, has been in a wheelchair since the age of 8 and she is now 23. Emily is 18 and has been in a wheelchair since the age of 7.
They are involved in wheelchair sports with both playing Wheelchair Basketball. Vicki just returned from Perth having competed in the nationals. Emily, on the other hand, has her heart set on track and field and is training frantically with the ambition of representing Australia on the track at the Rio Paralympics.
My girls are proof that no matter what your life throws your way there is always a way if you are willing to put in the effort. Yes, it is so much harder and frustrating for HSPers BUT never give up, and always be positive no matter how hard and impossible things look.
Let’s all keep positive and most of all let’s keep smiling and be inspired no matter what challenges are thrown upon us. I want nothing but the best for my girls and hope they can make their dream a reality.
Thank you so much for posting this on your site. All HSP sufferers are beautiful people with many needs. The community and all Australia should support and encourage them.
