Sets long jump world record
Dayna Crees is a 12-year-old Victorian schoolgirl with HSP who is taking all before her in athletics. As well as the long jump world record (2.45m) at the School Sports Australia Track and Field Championships in Tasmania in December, Dayna also collected 5 gold medals out of the 6 events she entered.
Of her long jump world record, Dayna commented:
“It was so exciting to break the world record … I couldn’t believe it,” she said.
“But the one thing I want to work towards is making the Olympic team in the 100m sprint event. It’s so fun and I love competing.”
