Fundraising & a social in Brisbane
No major social gatherings over the Christmas period but there was a small social in Brisbane with Tracy, a community member from Melbourne, who was visiting Brisbane.
On the fundraising side, the December fundraising was the major focus with the annual total for 2019 reaching $117,000 – just $3,000 short of target – a pretty good effort overall.

Melbourne visitor in Brisbane
In late December, Melbourne based community member Tracy, who was visiting friends in Brisbane, organised an informal social via Facebook for any HSP members who could make it at short notice.
On the day, Tracy met with locals Jill and Ken for coffee and cake at a coffee shop in the Brisbane suburb of Chermside. While only a small gathering, all commented on the benefits of just sitting and talking with each other face-to-face.

Towelling Down for HSP
Community member, Ken, is a member of Jetts Ferny Grove gym in Brisbane. The gym provides towels for members who forget their towel for a workout with a gold coin donation suggested.
Jetts selected the Foundation as the charity for the month of December and $135 was collected. Ken thanked the owners for the donation and commented “a lot of sweat went into this fundraising initiative”.
